Leonora Samonte

Leonora Samonte (nee: Medina), of Bayonne, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Thursday, October 13, 2022.  Born in Pampanga, Philippines, Leonora immigrated to the United States in 2014 and has resided in Bayonne for the past 8 years. 

Leonora took extreme pride in her role as homemaker where her gracious hospitality and joyful spirit was appreciated.  With a passion for cooking, she welcomed everyone with open arms and a home-cooked meal.  She was the ultimate nurturer with a heart of pure gold who never hesitated to babysit for family and friends while expecting nothing in return. 

The two things that Leonora held most sacred to her heart were her family and her faith in God.  These core values exemplified the role model that Leonora was to those around her.  She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and through discipline and determination, she maintained a daily exercise routine.  In her quiet time, she found peace and tranquility by reading the bible and listening to songs of praise and worship.  

Leonora's presence brightened every room she walked into and every life she touched. She will be missed immensely, but never forgotten, as her legacy of love is eternal.  

Leonora was predeceased by her dearly beloved husband, Conrado, and her parents, Marcelino and Ciriaca (DeLeon) Medina, and her sisters and brothers from the Philippines.  Left to cherish her memory are her children, Girlie Bacani and her husband Oliver, Gilbert Samonte, and Glenn Samonte and his wife Jennlyn, her adored grandchildren, Ethan Bacani , Daphnie, and Gladys Somante, and her sisters and brothers in the Philippines. 

A private cremation was held at Rosehill Crematory.
