Lilia Needham Obituary

Lilia Needham (Caballero) of Bayonne entered into eternal rest peacefully on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Peace Care of St. Ann’s Home in Jersey City, with her loving sister at her side.  Born in the Philippines, Lilia immigrated to the United States in 1977 and settled in Bayonne, making it her home. For many years, she worked as a secretary with the Trust Company of New Jersey and was known for her dedication and hard work.

Family meant everything to Lilia, and time spent together with them brought her endless joy. She shared a close and loving bond with her nieces and nephews and took great pride in encouraging and inspiring them to pursue all they hoped to achieve.  Lilia's home was always warm, welcoming, and beautifully maintained, a place where loved ones gathered and lasting memories were made. Cooking was one of her favorite pastimes, especially preparing traditional dishes from her culture, including adobo and sisig. Lilia embraced every opportunity to travel and found fulfillment in visiting London, Scotland, Brussels, Spain, and France, as well as making pilgrimages to Lourdes and Fatima. In her quiet moments at home, she enjoyed watching game shows and keeping up with current events on the news. Lilia will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for the warmth she shared, the lives she touched, and the love that remains in the hearts of those who knew her.

Lilia was predeceased by her parents, Amado and Victorina (Liongson) Caballero; her sister, Aida; and her brother, Amado Caballero Jr. Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Melita, Nerissa, Helen, Victorina, and Greta; her brother, Manuel Caballero; and many loving nieces and nephews.

A private cremation was held at Rosehill Crematory, Linden, NJ. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Lilia's life at a memorial service on Friday, April 24, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home. A funeral mass with her ashes present will be offered at 12:00 pm at St. John Paul II Parish, followed by entombment at the Holy Name Cemetery Mausoleum in Jersey City.
