On Thursday, April 27, 2023, a strong, compassionate mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all, Linda J. Betz, entered into eternal rest peacefully with her loving family by her side.
A lifelong Bayonne resident, Linda's creativity and independent spirit rose as she ventured into 15 successful years as proprietor of Linda's Ceramic Studio in Bayonne where she established and maintained many friendships with her customers over the years.
After her retirement in 2015, she lived life to the fullest, taking cruises to various islands including Jamaica and St. Martin, as well as trips to Disneyworld where she took joy in seeing her favorite character, Tinkerbelle. Linda's home was a reflection of her personality, which radiated warmth and cheerfulness through her beautifully decorated surroundings especially the Christmas season where she took great pride in her village displays.
Despite the trials and tribulations she faced in life, Linda's strength never wavered. She made her home a safe-haven for her three adored grandsons and filled their lives with unending love and affection while encouraging and guiding them through the steps needed to succeed in life.
Linda will always be remembered and deeply missed, but those who knew and loved her will take comfort in the memories they shared with her and the joy she brought into their lives.
Linda was the cherished mother of Margaret Marlowe (Scott), and Paul Betz (Margaret), proud grandmother of Cristian Marlowe, Paul and Jordan Betz, and the dear sister of Raymond Chopki. She is predeceased by her dearly beloved husband, Richard Betz Sr., her son Richard Betz Jr., parents, Peter and Barbara (Sheldon) Chopki, and her brother Robert Chopki.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Monday, May 1, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a Catholic religious service at 7:00 p.m. Cremation will be privately held at Rosehill Crematory in Linden, N.J.
A Mother's Love
A Mother’s love is something
that no one can explain,
It is made of deep devotion
and of sacrifice and pain,
It is endless and unselfish
and enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it
or take that love away . . .
It is patient and forgiving
when all others are forsaking,
And it never fails or falters
even though the heart is breaking . . .
It believes beyond believing
when the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty
of the rarest, brightest gems . . .
It is far beyond defining,
it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret
like the mysteries of creation . . .
A many splendored miracle
man cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence
of God’s tender guiding hand.
