Marciana Ocaba Obituary

Marciana (Cabigas) Ocaba of Bayonne entered into eternal rest peacefully on Sunday, May 24, with her loving family by her side.

Born in the Philippines, Marciana immigrated to the United States in 1989 and built a life rooted in family, dedication, and caring for others. For many years, she worked independently as a nanny and home caretaker before retiring five years ago. Known for her compassionate nature and unwavering strength, she faced life’s challenges with determination and resilience.

In her free time, Marciana enjoyed leisurely walks, watching videos and bloggers on her cell phone, singing along to Filipino songs, and listening to her favorite artists, including Tom Jones, The Carpenters, and Engelbert Humperdinck. Through her patience and devotion, Marciana was the light of her family. Nothing brought her greater joy than the time she shared with those closest to her, especially her adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought endless joy and happiness to her life.

Marciana will be deeply missed and held close for all eternity by her proud and loving family, and by all those whose lives were touched by her kindness and love.  She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 53 years, Luis Ocaba Sr.; her parents, Gaudencio and Magdalena (Batulan) Cabigas; her sister, Margarita Cabigas; and her brother, Lucino Cabigas. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Luis Ocaba Jr. and his wife, Adelusa, and Jo Lito Datiga; her daughters, Marilou Ocaba Atillo and Joan Batulan Cabigas; her sisters, Felicisma Atillo, Teresita Tangag, and Virginia Sabayton; along with 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Friday, May 29, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 30, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.
