Mayra (Rosales) Golabiewski

Mayra Golabiewski (nee: Rosales), passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 26, 2019.  Born in Guatemala, Mayra came to the United States in 1989 and had resided in Bayonne for the past 30 years.  Mayra was employed with the Bayonne Board of Education where she took great pride in her many years as a Spanish teacher.  Throughout her career in the education field her main priority was the success and wellbeing of her students.  

Mayra will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered as a truly amazing woman who radiated warmth and kindness. She enjoyed capturing the moment every chance she had while traveling to various places.  She had a love for animals and a passion for Zumba dancing where she was known by many as the “Zumba Queen”. Her appearance was that of a woman with true class as she always made sure she looked her best from head to toe.  Mayra’s smile lit the darkest days and her positive attitude lightened the heaviest moments.  But above all, Mayra had a deep love for her family that was beyond measure.  She joyfully embraced her role as wife and mother and treasured the wonderful times they spent together.  She leaves behind a legacy of love that will remain in the hearts and minds of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Mayra was predeceased by her dear mother Linda Rosales (nee: Rodriguez), (in May of this year), and her beloved dog Rocky.  She leaves behind to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 29 years, Krzysztof, her daughter Sonia and fiancé Joseph Castrovinci and her sons, Christopher and Kevin, her father Jose Luis Rosales, her sisters Georgina Vice, Sonia Rosales, and Lorena Rodriguez, her brother Jose Luis Rosales, her best friend Luis, who was like a brother to her, and her precious dog Teddy.   Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Friday, November 29, 2019, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm.  A funeral mass in Mayra’s honor will be offered on Saturday, November 30, at 10:00 am. from the Parish of St. John Paul II of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 39 East 22nd Street, Bayonne.  Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, N.J.
