The family of Mayra Del Rocio Ramirez Campoverde announces with deep sorrow her unexpected passing on Wednesday, July 16, 2025.
Born in Machala, Ecuador, Mayra had recently made Bayonne her home, having lived there for the past 13 months. During that time, she worked as a devoted home attendant with The Best Care Services in Jersey City. This role reflected her kind heart, patience, and natural ability to uplift others.
Driven by a deep desire to grow and make a difference, Mayra received her education from various schools in Ecuador and went on to earn a Master's Degree in Psychology. She was exceptionally talented in the kitchen and took pride in preparing delicious, home cooked meals for her family. She also maintained a strong commitment to exercise and healthy living, often starting her mornings with walks and stretches. Mayra enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially visiting parks and scenic areas with her husband, Angel. She found joy in listening to music, decorating her home, and staying closely connected to her loved ones. Her joyful spirit and warm heart touched everyone she met.
Mayra was predeceased by her mother, Emma Campoverde. Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of three years, Angel Ortega, her two loving sons, Jorge Andres Risco and Erice Xavier Risco Ramirez, her father, Angel Ramirez, her siblings Emma, Rosa, Cecilia, Carmen, and Blanca Ramirez, her brothers Luis, Angel, and Tito Ramirez, her daughter-in-law, Maria Paula Chuchuca, and many dear nieces and nephews, all residing in Ecuador.
A private visitation was held at Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home for immediate family members before Mayra’s return to Ecuador, where all services will be conducted, followed by burial at Parque de La Paz Cemetery in Machala, Ecuador.
