Michael Bernard Flood, affectionately known as "Mike," a lifelong resident of Bayonne, passed away on April 6, 2025, at Bayonne Medical Center.
For many years, Mike dedicated himself as a sales associate at Costco Wholesale in Bayonne. Prior to that, he made a significant impact as a camp counselor and athletic coach at the Bayonne Jewish Community Center. He was known as "Coach Mike Flood" for the Hornets and Jr. Bees in the Pop Warner League, where his guidance and mentorship left a lasting impression.
In his early years, Mike proudly owned the Huddle Coffee Shop located at 53rd Street and Avenue B in Bayonne. His warm personality and friendly demeanor attracted customers, making the shop a welcoming place for everyone. An avid Notre Dame fan, Mike was passionate about collecting memorabilia from his favorite team. In his free time, he enjoyed listening to classic rock music and showcasing his guitar talents by playing with various local bands in the area.
Mike will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know him. His kindness, unwavering dedication, and spirit of community enriched our lives, and his legacy will continue to inspire and comfort us as we remember the impact he had on each of us.
Mike was predeceased by his loving parents, Phillip and Barbara (Ryan) Flood, and his uncle, Donald Ryan. He is survived by his daughter, Allison; his brothers, James Flood and his wife, Dorren; and John Flood; his uncle, Justin Ryan; his aunt, Grace Castora and her husband, Phil; as well as his nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. He was also a loyal friend to many, including Ray and Laura Hyman.
In honor of Michael's wishes, cremation was privately held.
