Michael Tesh Obituary

Michael Tesh, a beacon of love and light, entered into eternal rest on June 28, 2024. Born in Jersey City, NJ, he settled in Bayonne many years ago. Before his retirement, Michael was a longtime paint mixer for Norton Paints in Bayonne.

Nothing brought Michael greater peace and tranquility in his leisure moments than feeding the birds while enjoying the beauty of nature. He was a man who was strong in faith, had a humble spirit toward Saint Michael the Archangel, and took comfort in watching religious programs on TV.

Michael possessed a remarkable gift for connecting with individuals from all backgrounds, leaving a lasting impression wherever he went. His integrity and acts of kindness were a guiding light, especially to the Jewish Assisted Living residents in Jersey City, whose lives he profoundly impacted.

Michael's passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. His legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness will forever resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

He was predeceased by his dearly beloved parents, Michael and Mary (Kalokitus) Tesh, two brothers, Vincent and George, and his fiancé, Kathy Kane.  He is survived by his sisters and brother, Mary Sokoloff, Frances, Patricia, and Clements Tesh; his niece and nephew, Melissa and Clements Jr.

A private mass was held at St. John Paul II Parish, officiated by Fr. Andrej Wasko followed by a private cremation at Rosehill Crematory.

I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one,

I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.

I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,

of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.

I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun.

Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
