Neftali Carrasquillo, 72, of Bayonne, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, Neftali came to Bayonne in 1981 where he has since resided. Through hard work and determination, Neftali successfully ran his own general contracting business before his retirement many years ago. Nefali was an avid fan of the Yankees and had a love for cooking. He will be remembered as a "family man with a big heart" who welcomed everyone with open arms. He was a notorious prankster with an extraordinary sense of humor and had the ability to make just about anyone laugh.
Neftali was predeceased by his beloved wife Milagros (Santiago) Carrasquillo (in 2011) and his parents, Ramon and Justa (Garcia) Carrasquillo. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Denise Aguilar and her husband Edwin; two sons, Neftali and his wife Zoraida, and Abraham and his wife Sandy; seven grandchildren, Joshua, Brian, Emily, Abian, and Ariana Carrasquillo, and Edwin and Natalie Aguilar; three great-grandchildren, Miguel Angel, and Natalia Marie Vazquez, and Joshua Carrasquillo Jr.; and six sisters and one brother.
A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Saturday and Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Everyone is asked to assemble at the funeral home on Monday, June 5, at 9:30 a.m. for departure to Rosedale Cemetery, Linden, N.J.
