Patricia A. Pongrac (Bavlish), 81, of Bayonne, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 14, 2020.
“Patti”, as she was known by all, was born and raised in Jersey City before moving to Bayonne where she resided for the past 20 years. Prior to her retirement in 1999, she worked as a bookkeeper for the Medical Arts Bureau in Jersey City, a position she held for nearly 30 years.
Family meant the world to Patti, especially the treasured times she spent caring for her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved and adored.
In her leisure time she enjoyed playing cards and attending Bingo nights with her close friends. She had an artistic flair and a passion for oil painting and drawing and was gifted in crocheting. Patti was also fiercely competitive when it came to the various games she played on her cell phone and was always up for the challenge to win against anyone she played against.
Patti was predeceased by her dearly beloved children, Kathleen, Christopher and Geraldine, and her parents, Joseph and Eva (Roda) Bavlish. She enriched the lives of many and leaves a wonderful legacy in the hearts and souls of her loving family, including her sisters, Helene D'Andrea, and Janice Pica and brother-in-law Joseph, her aunt Dorothy Bavlish, four grandchildren, Samantha, Ashley, Robert, and Jessica, four great-grandchildren, Alea, Ericka, Jade, and Ian, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Saturday, December 19, from 2:00pm to 4:00 pm with a Catholic religious service at 3:30 pm officiated by the Rev. Lukasz Kleczka of St. John Paul II Parish. Cremation will be privately held at Rosehill Crematory, in Linden, NJ.
The funeral home occupancy will be limited to 25 people at a time to adhere to safety protocols. There will be a hands-free sanitizing station at the front door entrance. Please be sure to arrive with a face covering.
No Time For Sad Remembrances
There’s no time for sad remembrances
Because I’m home where I belong.
I’ve conquered all my battles,
I’ve even heard the trumpet’s song.
I’ve climbed my highest mountain
And I’ve reached an even peak,
And I’ve found that peace and true reward
That you have yet to seek.
There’s no time for sad remembrances
For you have a precious life;
So find comfort in my journey
Please don’t bear this pain and strife.
Oh! My Father’s house is perfect
Just like He said it would be,
So dry your tears and smile for me
Because I’m home and now I’m free.
I am part of all the beauty
That your world has yet to see;
So don’t be sad about my journey,
Just be glad that I am free!
