Paul E. Henson Jr. entered into eternal rest peacefully on Tuesday, January 30, 2024.
Born in Tucson, Arizona, Paul lived most of his life in Oklahoma, Caldwell, and Bayonne, before settling in East Orange, NJ. He worked as a post-production editor for Image Productions in New York City for over 15 years.
Paul's faith in God was deep and unyielding and carried him through some of the most difficult times in his life. Despite his struggles, he refused to give in to his addiction and proudly achieved 25 years of sobriety. Paul's compassion knew no limits as he always sought to make a positive difference to help anyone in need. He was a longtime friend of Bill W. He also had a deep affection for animals as they brought immeasurable joy into his life.
Paul made the most of his leisure time. His diverse interests in concerts and listening to classic rock, blues, and jazz defined his free-spirited approach to life. Some might say he was a bit eccentric at times, but to those who knew him best, he was just being Paul.
Paul's life was a true example of how much good one person is capable of. He will be deeply missed by those who were touched by his presence over the years.
Left to cherish his memory are his former wife, Veronica (Roni) Czerniawski (with whom he shared an unbreakable friendship) and the entire Czerniawski family, including Frank Czerniawski, Maryann Tomaskovic; his cousin, Patricia Owensby, and many dear friends.
In honor of Paul, charitable donations to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals or an animal charity of your choice would be most appreciated.
Funeral services were entrusted to the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home. A private cremation was held at Rosehill Crematory in Linden, NJ.
PRAYER FOR SERENITY
God, grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time,
enjoying one moment at a time;
accepting hardship as a pathway to peace;
taking, as Jesus did,
this sinful world as it is,
not as I would have it;
trusting that You will make all things right
if I surrender to Your will;
so that I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with You forever in the next.
Amen.
