Peerless Rose Fogoe, 80, of Bayonne, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 7, 2020 with her loving family by her side. Born in Jamaica W.I., Peerless proudly dedicated 24 years as a teacher and mentor to her students and was a highly respected colleague among her school faculty. In 1993 she came to the United States where she resided in Bayonne. She was employed with the Visiting Homemaker Services in Jersey City as a caregiver, a position she held for more than 15 years. She was a faithful member of The Peoples Baptist Church in Bayonne. With a love for music, her angelic voice brought joy to countless people. She will be fondly remembered by her family and friends for her beautiful smile and shining personality to match.
Peerless was predeceased by her father Nathaniel Allen, her mother Irene (nee: Combrie), her son Andrew Bennett. Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 47 years Wilton, her 2 daughters, Julia Edwards and husband Reynaldo, Julaine Fogoe and husband Binham Lewis, 4 sons, Robert Brown, Lynval Smith and wife Juliet Palmer, Wayne Fogoe and Haldane Fogoe and wife Ashadee, 1 brother, Barry Allen, Stepchildren, Marcia Fogoe and Leyton Fogoe, and 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved and adored.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Saturday, March 14, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, with a prayer service in the chapel at 7:00 p.m., officiated by the Rev. Paul Zeron, Pastor of The People’s Baptist Church. Interment will take place at the Bath Mountain Family Cemetery in Jamaica W.I.
