Peter Grabowski Obituary

Peter S. Grabowski, a lifelong Bayonne resident passed away peacefully at home on May 3, 2023, with his loving family by his side.  Peter served his country with pride and honor in the United States Army.  After completing his military duties he began his longshoreman career and joined the International Longshoreman Association Local #1588 and Sims Metal in Jersey City, a position he held for more than 30 years.

Throughout his life, Peter was known for his strong work ethic which was a trait he possessed from a young age.  Never one to sit still, he made sure his home was well-maintained and always strived to make it better.  He was a devoted family man whose greatest priority was to build and provide a good life for his wife and children.  A true animal lover, Peter treasured the years of faithful companionship that his cats and dogs brought to his life over the years.  He held a special place in his heart for his beloved Pitbull, Chanel, after her passing last year.

Although Peter worked hard he found time to appreciate life's simple pleasures which included trips to the casinos with his wife as well as enjoying the great outdoors camping and fishing.  As a loyal and diehard Dallas Cowboys fan, he had the opportunity to travel twice to the Dallas Cowboys Stadium where he enthusiastically rooted for his favorite team.

Peter will be greatly missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were privileged to know him.

Beloved husband of 33 joyful years to Dawn (McLaughlin) Grabowski, loving father of Peter R. Grabowski, Theresa Grabowski (Robert), and Alyssa Lipinski (Austin), and dear brother of Rosemary Grabowski, Thomas Akel, Patricia Shea (John), Caroline Fermin (Martin), Theresa Grabowski, (Tyrone), Laura Borrales (Hector), Barbara Jean Vargas (Lee), Lawrence Grabowski (Joyce), Richard Grabowski (Yvette), mother-in-law, Anna Weingartner, and sister-in-law, Toni Davidovicz (Paul). Also survived by his adored nieces and nephews, Tanisha, Evette, Edward, Daniel, Richard, Kevin, Keith, Tiffany, Courtney, Thomas, Nicole, Justin, John, and Amber.  Predeceased by parents, Richard and Theresa (Magda) Grabowski, brother Edward, nephews, Willie Jr. and Michael Paul, and his father-in-law, Richard McLaughlin.
