Peter Francis Rapczynski

Peter Francis Rapczynski, 32, a lifelong resident of Bayonne, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2016, at Bayonne Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Peter was employed for many years at Pompei Pizza Restaurant in Bayonne.  As an avid sports enthusiast, Peter was a diehard fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Boston Red Sox. His many passionate interests included fishing, crabbing, camping, movies, and playing cards. In his youth, he was a Boy Scout and attained the rank of Eagle Scout with Troop 19 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Bayonne.

Peter was predeceased by his father Francis J. Rapczynski in 2010, and his cousin Anthony Gamoneda. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Deborah (nee: Adamiak) Rapczynski; his 2 sisters, Amanda and Samatha Rapczynski; and his aunts and uncles; Joseph and Barbara Rapczynski; Rigo and Linda Gamoneda; Joseph and Rita Bawiec; and Alphonse Susoljak; his cousins, Joseph, Paula, Linda, Kaitlin, Lauren, Heather, Joey and Jennifer, and his beloved canine companion Bentley. Peter will be loved and deeply missed by his family, especially his nephew Joshua with whom he had a close bond with.

Viewing hours will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home, 20 East 22nd Street, Bayonne on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A funeral mass in Peter’s honor will be held on Friday, October 21, at 10:00 am at St. John Paul II Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 39 East 22nd Street, Bayonne. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
