With heavy hearts, the family of Robert Walter Krawczyk announces his sudden and unexpected passing on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at the age of 79. Robert was born in Bayonne and was a lifelong resident.
Before his retirement 10 years ago, Robert pursued a 50-year career in the trucking industry working as a truck driver for the Marine Container Corp. in Kearny. Previous employers included the Rail Head Container Freight Station, Inc. and the Atlantic Cement Company, both in Bayonne. Robert eventually purchased his own rig and continued driving locally hauling containers.
Robert led a fascinating life filled with travel and adventure both domestically and abroad. He looked forward to relaxing getaways to various destinations such as the Florida Keys for a thrilling day of water skiing, scuba diving for lobsters in Massachusetts, skiing down the mountains while taking in the magnificent scenic views and vacationing in the Philippines as well as Thailand where he spent his winters for the past 15 years.
As a health and fitness enthusiast, Robert had a strong commitment to working-out at the YMCA where he was a longtime member. His physical and mental strength along with a rigorous training regimen helped him to achieve his weightlifting goal of bench pressing 300 pounds. Known as the “Go to Guy", Robert had a natural ability to fix just about anything he set his mind to and never hesitated to lend a helping hand. He found immense joy in heading out on a sunny day of golf with his son Jay. He was patriotic and always had a deep respect for the American Flag. Those who knew him best will remember him as an unapologetically outspoken personality with a sarcastic sense of humor.
Robert's legacy and remarkable journey in life will live on in the hearts of his family and the countless people whose lives were enriched by him.
Robert was predeceased by his parents, John and Jessie (Zalewsky) Krawczyk. Left to cherish his memory are his dearly beloved wife, Linda (Abella) Krawczyk, his daughter Donna Ferrante (Anthony), Jenevieve A. (Abella) McKee (John), sons, Robert Krawczyk (Michele), and John "Jay" Krawczyk, sisters, Arlene Gmitter and Rita Siegel, his twin brother, John Krawczyk, and his adored grandsons, Gabriel Krawczyk, Anthony and Austin Ferrante, and John Thomas and James Luke McKee.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend viewing hours at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Sunday, August 29, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and 5:00 to 7:00 pm. A private cremation will be held on Monday, August 30 at the Rosehill Crematory in Linden.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Hudson County Animal League, 597 Broadway, Bayonne, NJ 07002, as Robert had a caring heart for all animals.
Remember me in quiet days
While raindrops whisper on your pane
But in your memories have no grief,
Let just the joy remain.
Remember me when evening stars
Look down on you with steadfast eyes.
Remember if once you wake
To catch a glimpse of red sunrise.
And when your thoughts do turn to me,
Know that I would not have you cry.
But live for me and laugh for me,
When you are happy, so am I.
Remember an old joke we shared;
Remember me when spring walks by.
Think once of me when you are glad
And while you live, I shall not die.
