Robert Metelski, a lifelong Bayonne resident, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on June 12, 2024.
Robert worked as a dedicated warehouseman at F&A Distributors in Bayonne for many years. His commitment to the transportation industry was also evident in his work as a driver for various car service companies, including Archie's Cab in Bayonne.
Robert's deep love for sports enriched his life, particularly his unwavering devotion to the New England Patriots, for which he held season tickets. His support for the Boston Red Sox was equally genuine, and he formed many meaningful connections with fellow sports fans in the Boston area, maintaining close friendships with them over the years.
Robert often spent his leisure time at the Atlantic City and Las Vegas casinos, enjoying mini getaways. But his true joy was found in his family's company, and his heart was filled with a special affection for his pit bull, "Boo-Boo," whom he considered his best pal.
Robert was predeceased by his beloved parents, Anthony and Josephine Metelski (nee: Krzyzanowski). He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Susan Metelski, and many dear friends.
A visitation to honor Robert's memory will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Monday, June 17, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Catholic religious service will be conducted during visiting hours beginning at 6:00 PM.
All are welcome to gather at the funeral home on Tuesday morning, June 18, at 9:30 am to join the procession to Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, where Robert will be laid to rest.
