Severino Ovejera Obituary

Severino R. Ovejera, 77, of Bayonne, entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 27, 2020, with his loving family by his side.  Born in Tarlac, Philippines, Severino immigrated to the United States in 2003 where he resided in Bayonne for the past 17 years.  Severino worked as a dietary assistant with the Castle Hill Health Care Center in Union City, a position he held for 10 years before his retirement in 2010.

Severino was a man of honor and integrity whose greatest joy in life was spending time with his family.  He especially adored his two beautiful granddaughters and treasured their special visits to the park and the quality time they so lovingly spent together.  Some of Severino’s favorite pastimes included listening to the relaxing music of his favorite singing artist Barry Manilow and taking trips back home to the Philippines.  Severino will be deeply missed and loved eternally by all who were privileged to have known him.

Severino was predeceased by his parents, Roque and Adelaida (Reyno) Ovejera and two brothers, Ethelwoldo and Cresencio.  He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 37 years, Helen (Medalla) Ovejera, his daughter Kim Beloy and her husband Calvin, sons, Paul and Vincent Ovejera, granddaughters, Isabella and Gabriela, and sisters Rosita Sagun and Florencia Daus.

Due to the recent restrictions of the COVID-19 , funeral services were private and cremation followed.

Remember me

Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you planned:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.

Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:

For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.
