Sigmund Kosakowski Obituary

Sigmund Chester Kosakowski, 98, of Singer Island, Florida, a longtime former Bayonne resident, entered into eternal rest peacefully on May 26, 2019, at the Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. “Bruno” or “Ziggy” as he was affectionately known by all, was born and raised in Bayonne.

Sigmund served his country proudly in the United States Army Air Force. During his military career he attained the rank of staff sergeant and earned his commission and pilot wings and was a proficient translator of morse code.

Sigmund possessed an entrepreneurial spirit in his hometown of Bayonne which led to 51 years of success as business owner of the Bruno Kosakowski Brokerage and Real Estate Agency.  He was a member of the National Realtors Association and the Polish American Citizens Club,

Sigmund and his wife Mae, had a passion for traveling and experiencing life away from home. One of their favorite places to visit was Singer Island, Florida, which prompted them to make their ultimate decision to permanently reside there upon their retirement.  With a love for the great outdoors, Sigmund was an avid boatman and fisherman and enjoyed crabbing at the Jersey Shore.  In his spare time he took pleasure in gardening at his Florida home.  He will be missed immensely by his family and friends and the countless other lives he touched through the years.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Mae (Buklarewicz) Kosakowski (in 2015), his son Kenny (in 2014), parents Chester and Marya (Gorczyca) Kosakowski, son-in-law Joseph Vida Sr. and daughter-in-law Doris Kerr.  Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Diane A. Vida, two sons, Richard Kerr and Lee D. Dalton, seven grandchildren, Joseph Vida Jr., Jason Vida Esq., Diane Vida, Mike Vida, Kery Kosakowski-Anderson and husband Robert, Lauren Kosakowski and Debbie Kerr-Mason and husband Daniel; three great-grandchildren, Vanessa Luke, Victoria Vida, and Ryan Anderson, and one great-great grandson Prince Luke.
