Stephen Goliczewski Obituary

Stephen A. Goliczewski, a lifelong Bayonne resident, entered into eternal rest at home on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, with his loving family by his side.

Before his retirement in 2002, Steve dedicated more than 31 years to the General Motors Corporation in Linden, NJ, where he held the title of inspector.

Steve was passionate about his interests and enthusiastically pursued them. He enjoyed music from the rock-and-roll era, with the Beatles being his all-time favorite, and was adamant about listening to them on his collection of vintage stereo equipment. His life was built around his family, all of whom he loved deeply and were his greatest joy and purpose. He treasured many summer weekends at the family lake house in West Milford, NJ, fishing on Greenwood Lake on his 22-foot Baja speed boat, hooking large-mouth bass.

Steve had a larger-than-life personality and infectious laugh that left an indelible mark on so many. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched, and though he is no longer with us, he will never be forgotten.

Steve was predeceased by his parents, Stephen and Jean (Bronovicki) Goliczewski. He is survived by his dearly beloved wife of 47 years, Eleanor J. (Macon) Goliczewski; two daughters, Melissa Ludwig (Matthew) and Amy Hurley (Timothy); his adored grandchildren, Deegan, Nora, John, and Timothy III; and his brother, Donald Goliczewski.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visiting hours at Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 23, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. On Wednesday morning, July 24, a gathering will be held at the funeral home before we proceed to Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, where Steve will be laid to rest.

The Fisherman's Prayer

God grant that I may live to fish,

until my dying day.
And when it comes to my last cast,

I then most humbly pray.
When in the Lord's safe landing net

I'm peacefully asleep,

That in His mercy I be judged as

big enough to keep.
