Steven Gull, 51, of Las Vegas Nevada, formally of Bayonne, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at his residence.
Born and raised in Bayonne, Steven received his formal education at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Grammar School and Marist High School. He then went on to earn his LPN from Bayonne Hospital School of Nursing. Steven was an EMT with McCabe Ambulance Service and worked at Bayonne Medical Center as an LPN in the Emergency Room and Dialysis Center where he was admired and respected by patients and colleagues for his dedicated and faithful service.
With desire and motivation, Steven later relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada where he has resided for the past 17 years, to pursue a career as a culinary bartender. He was employed with the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino and was also affiliated with several other exclusive hotels which included, the Mandalay Bay, the Four Seasons Hotel and Casino, the T-Mobil Arena and the Riviera Hotel and Casino. Steven made a lasting impression on many people in his short life and will be remembered with great affection. He had a passion for traveling the world visiting numerous countries. He was a proud advocate for the Humane Society and was an avid horse race enthusiast and NASCAR fan. Although Steven had many career accomplishments and ventures in life, his greatest source of pride was memorable times spent with his family and his furry feline friends, Luna and Marigold.
Steven was predeceased by his beloved father Joseph J. Gull in 1999. Left to cherish his memory are his loving mother Adele E. (Gers) Gull; his sister Teresa Gelenites and her husband Edward; his brother Joseph Gull and his dear former wife Veronica; his adored nieces and nephews, Kristen, Eddie and his wife Amanda, Melissa, Steven and Joseph Gull Jr. Also survived by many grand nieces and grand nephews, cousins and friends near and far. A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home, 20 East 22nd Street, Bayonne, on Sunday, March 19, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, March 20, at 11:00 am at St. John Paul II at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 39 East 22nd Street, Bayonne. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
In lieu of flowers and in honoring Steven's love of animals, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Humane Society, 235 Communipaw Ave. Jersey City, NJ 07305.
