Virginia R. O'Hare, of Bayonne, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Peace Care St. Ann's in Jersey City.
"Gigi", as she was affectionately known, was born in Jersey City before moving to Bayonne, where she resided for most of her life. Gigi worked as a teller for the Broadway National Bank in Bayonne for 25 years until her retirement in 1985.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Gigi. In her leisure time, she loved gardening, knitting, watching her favorite comedy shows, and spending time with her family and friends for a day of shopping. She held a special place in her heart for her dogs and birds, Muffin, Penny, Daisy, and Angel. Gigi's spirit of traveling was also a big part of her life, as she delighted in visiting her favorite destinations including Canada, Vermont, Maine, and Arkansas.
Gigi was predeceased by her dearly beloved husband, Francis A. O'Hare (2021), her parents, Michael and Rose (Vida) Pindris, and her brother, Michael Pindris, her parents-in-law, Joseph and Marion, her brother-in-law, Joseph and sister-in-law, Barbara Gallagher. Left to cherish her memory are her siblings, nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday morning, January 12, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. with a Catholic religious service at 10:15 a.m. celebrated by the Rev. Lukasz Kleczka of St. John Paul II Parish. Interment will follow at Bayview Cemetery, Jersey City, NJ.
Due to the current rise in Covid cases, visitation will be limited to 25 people at a time. It is respectfully asked that all visitors immediately exit the funeral home after briefly paying their respects so that others may have the same opportunity. As per the family's request, please refrain from any physical contact and wear a face covering before entering the funeral home.
Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down
in green pastures;
He leads me beside the
still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths
of righteousness
For His name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through
the valley of the shadow
of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before
me in the presence of my
enemies;
You anoint my head with
oil;
My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and
mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the
house of the Lord
Forever.
