Wieslaw Kowalski peacefully passed away on February 5, 2024, at Bayonne Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on March 28, 1956, in Świedziebnia, Poland, Wieslaw was one of five children, surrounded by picturesque forests and the warmth of a close-knit family. He pursued a career as a mechanic before immigrating to the United States, where he earned his CDL and embarked on a remarkable 40-year journey as a truck driver with JB Hunt. In recognition of his outstanding commitment to safety, the company honored him last year with a prestigious ceremony in Arkansas, celebrating his incredible achievement of driving 3 million miles accident-free.
Wieslaw had a passion for the great outdoors, often finding joy in fishing, boating, and spending time in nature. One of the most profound joys of his life came in 2016 when he welcomed his only granddaughter, Alexandra. He delighted in attending her plays and marveling at the remarkable young person she was becoming.
He leaves behind cherished memories for his son, Robert Kowalski; his daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Kowalski; his adored granddaughter, Alexandra; sisters, Grazyna and Zosia; his brother Idek, along with his extended family in Poland; and cousins and friends in the US.
