William Wroblewski Obituary

William J. Wroblewski affectionately known as "Ski," entered into eternal rest peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on June 27, 2025. He was a native of Staten Island, having settled in Bayonne many years ago.

A proud veteran, Ski honorably served his country in the United States Navy. After his military service, he continued a life of dedication and commitment as a police officer on Staten Island with the United States Department of Defense, where he attained the rank of Sergeant. He later transferred to the Bayonne Military Ocean Terminal, where he served for many years.

Ski embraced life with a gentle spirit, finding peace in the simple things that mattered most to him. With a genuine love for nature, he especially enjoyed fishing, often spending hours by the calming waters of Toms River and in hidden spots throughout Hudson County, where he could relax, reflect, and feel connected to the world around him. He also enjoyed riding his bicycle and spending time outdoors in a way that brought him ease.  Ski was a man of faith, who found strength and comfort in the Bible, reading it with sincerity and carrying its meaning with him throughout his life.

Above all, Ski had an unwavering and unconditional love for his family and deeply valued every moment they spent together. He also shared a special bond with his loyal feline companion, Lexi, a tortoiseshell cat he adored beyond measure.

Ski was predeceased by his dearly beloved wife, Elsie Marie (Bensen) Wroblewski; his parents, Eugene and Olive (Deyoung) Wroblewski; his sister, Jeanie Santry; and his brother, Robert Wroblewski. He leaves behind his loving daughter, Ann Mary Malave, and her husband, Ron Brown, and his devoted extended family and friends.

A Memorial Mass in Ski's honor will be held on Saturday, July 19, at 10:00 AM at Blessed Miriam Teresa Demjanovich Parish of St. Mary, Star of the Sea Church, located at 326 Avenue C, at the corner of 14th Street, Bayonne. Interment of ashes will follow at a later date at the General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father, Who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be Thy name;
Thy kingdom come;
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
And forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those
Who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation.
But deliver us from evil.
Amen
