Witold Szemiot, 84, of Bayonne, passed away at his residence surrounded by his loving family on Monday, October 24, 2016.
Born in Naliboki, Poland, Witold immigrated to the United States many years ago, settling in Bayonne. Witold was employed with the Bayonne Municipal Water Department for the past 15 years. Prior to that, he held various positions through the years where he was known for his many natural talents and ambitions.
Witold was predeceased by his first wife Genowefa (nee: Karlowska) in 2000; his parents, Jan and Bronislawa (nee: Juszkiewicz) Szemiot; and his brother John Szemiot. Left to cherish his memory is his second wife Anna (nee: Mularczyk) Szemiot and her children, Agata Wojtach and her husband Marek; Jolanta Jakowska; Jacek Chmelowski and his wife Dorota; his brothers, Tomasz and his wife Anna and Mario and his wife Mary; and his sister-in-law Rose.
A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home, 20 East 22nd Street, Bayonne, on Wednesday, October 26, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. A funeral mass in Witold's honor will be offered on Thursday, October 27, 11:00 am. at St. John Paul II Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
