Zbigniew Senk, of Bayonne, entered into eternal rest on October 28, 2019.
“Zbig”, as he was known by all, was born in Lodz, Poland on May 6, 1948 to parents Jan and Stephania Senk.
Zbig served in the Polish Army with pride and honor from 1968 to 1970. He was active in the Polish Solidarity Movement from 1980 to 1983. Zbig relocated with his family to the United States in 1983 where they settled in Bayonne. In 2017 he was awarded the medal of Krzyżem Wolności i Solidarności for his work towards freedom and solidarity which was received in a ceremony by the Polish Consulate in Manhattan.
Prior to his retirement in 2018, he led a distinguished career as a chemist for more than 30 years working for companies R&D for Mobile, BASF, Dow Chemical, and Church & Dwight. He was recognized and appreciated for his exceptional work and dedication and was awarded numerous honors for his patents as a chemist.
Zbig will be remembered for his patriotic sentiment and deep respect for Poland and the United States. He was a caring husband, father and grandfather who loved his family above all else. He will be sadly missed by those whose lives he touched along the way in his journey in life. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Teresa, his daughter Magdalena Adamczyk and husband Bart, and his adored grandchildren, Aleksander and Gabriella.
A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Sunday, November 3, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral mass in Polish will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Parish of St. John Paul II at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 39 East 22nd Street, Bayonne. Cremation will be private.
